I haven’t blogged in a while BUT I have to blog about something I experienced the other day. Yes. The WATCH THE THRONE TOUR. June 11th, Monday approx. 20:30 the lights turned off, the crowd screamed in excitement it only meant one thing…that in about 5 minutes Jay-Z and Kanye West would be stood on the stage and the greatest concert I’ve ever been to was about to start.
Anyone that has seen the stage lay out knows theres 2 stages. One normal one at the front of the arena but there’s also another one within the standing area. We all turned to the first one, H.A.M started Kanye appeared on the first one. HYPE. We turn around and the legend him self Jay-Z is stood behind us! HEAD GONE. The goosebumps I got were unreal I can’t honestly express what the feeling was. Probably a mix of the weed in my system and pure adrenaline but it felt unreal! The end of H.A.M approached and then the podiums went up. Jay and Kanye overlooked the whole arena like Gods. Whoever planned the tour for that to happen were genius’s. I’ve never seen anything like that at all.
As the podiums came down they performed numerous songs off the Watch The Throne album but also did their own songs like ‘H to the Izzo’, ‘Runaway’, ‘Gold Digger’, ‘On to the next one’. When performing their own shit it felt like it was Jay V Kanye. Who was the better performer…for me? Kanye. I’ve seen Jay already and it was my first time seeing Kanye he was so ill. So so ill.
NOW this part has to be in bold because it was something I’ve never experienced ever. It was that unreal.
The end of the concert was approaching about 30 mins left…on the screens behind Jay and Kanye big letters went across with no music. It read… N I G G A S I N P A R I S.
The crowd went wild. Like the energy was SICK. Jay smiled at Kanye and dropped it. “BALL SO HARD MUH’FUCKERS WANNA FINE ME”. Everyone was on their feet, standing everyone was jumping about just so hyped about this one tune. Jay spat his verse, hype. Then Kanye spat his verse with his trademark HAAAAA ad-libs which only added to epicness of the song. The song ended, Jay and Kanye just stood there just taking in how mad everyone was going…Jay simply just said…AGAIN! Dropped it for the 2nd time, even more hype than the first. Jay got into it a bit more Kanye was skanking harrrrrd! They ended up dropping it 5 times, the concert ended, we got out sparked a spliff sat back none of us knew what to say. Only words we could muster was “Wow”. The whole experience of that concert is something I don’t think will ever EVER be topped. Best £60 I’ve ever spent. Hands down.
